The m38 scope was a fun project that required both CNC lathe and mill along manual machines. My 4th axis rotary table did the engraving on the front… Ili try and post the how i did the paint job at the end
The scope is one of the best parts to the e11 i think. I have always been a big fan of the Sherman Tank. The periscope that it comes from is a war relic and destroying these is not to be taken lightly.
NOTICE the metal mite and the power cylinders im working on. Finally did enough research to figure those out. Very tricky stuff. The laser was used to cut the brackets and i turned the capacitors on my lathe..
Ill post that build too
The scope was a complex shape I had to break it down to be machined. The original was cast in brass and finished by hand….. Im going to do a brass version next, the cost will be some what higher but im sure there are some of the builders out there that will appreciate it.
Very nice build from one of my customers,,, You can check out some other views on his Facebook
JUST GOT A M19 TODAY,,,, FINALLY
Here is a few picture showing how to white out the m38 telescope loge on the front… There may be other ways but i like this the best.
Newest casted version of the m38 scope…. This picture is the mid body of the telescope…I will machine brass eyepieces for the front and back…
